Tree Cabling and Bracing

a tree with cabling
When you’re looking for a way to secure the trees you love, we recommend tree cabling and bracing. These methods are used to secure trees that are starting to get a little weak, giving them some added support. It helps them grow strong and gives you peace of mind that you’re not going to have a branch fall down at any given moment. This is one of the best ways to help trees grow strong and live a full and healthy life. Here we will explain the process of tree cabling and tree bracing and how they can benefit our clients and community.

Tree Cabling
We do tree cabling when we can use the tree’s strength to support other weaker branches with a series of cables. We do this by installing a network of cables or, in some cases, just one cable throughout the tree to encourage strong growth. These cables are designed to blend into the tree so that they won’t stick out as an eyesore. But they will still be visible enough so that you know they are doing their job. Our professionals can come out and assess them regularly and let you know if any part has been unsuccessful, and it is best to have branches removed before they cause any danger to you or your property.

Tree Bracing
Tree bracing is another method we use to secure weak branches, however, this is a much more invasive method. When we do tree bracing, it completely restricts a branch from swaying in the wind. By having it securely held in place by a brace, we can ensure no hazard to the property. This is most commonly done in cases where a tree really is on its last legs. But if you’re not ready to part with your tree just yet, we can help increase its lifespan by securing it tightly with these braces.

Early Detection
The most dangerous thing about weak branches is that they can often go undetected until something goes wrong. Either this could be a branch falling down in the middle of the night when no one is around, or it could be at a much worse time. And that is something that we want to completely avoid for anyone in our community. To avoid it, we need to have our clients having their trees regularly inspected by our team of experts at Redmond Tree Service. We will be able to pick up on any disease or weakness early and put cabling or bracing measures in place early to ensure your safety.

Established Trees
More often than not, we use these methods on older well established trees. Our intention is always to try and save the tree where possible by providing it with support. But in some cases, it may be detected too late and pose too big of a threat to a property. In which case, we would advise you that it is best to have it removed. But we will gladly plan another one for you in its place.
